Harvest Hosts, a Reno-based RV program, reinforces unity, enhances experiences and bolsters independent businesses, chiming perfectly with the rising trend of RV living that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The program connects RV owners with over 2,000 host locations across North America, including wineries, farms, and breweries, which allows them to explore the country in a unique way.

Headed by Joel Holland, Harvest Hosts inspires more than just aimless travel. It rather encourages engagement with lesser-known sectors of Nevada’s business community, leading travelers away from main highways and into the heart of local communities.

The scheme operates on a straightforward principle: businesses with extra space, like breweries or farms, can become hosts. A $99 annual fee provides users with an unlimited reach to an array of unique RV parks. As a result, they can embark on new journeys, immerse themselves in various cultures, and relish authentic local experiences.

An example of this fruitful partnership is the Imbib Brewery in Reno, which offers its extensive parking spaces for RV travelers post-collaboration with Harvest Hosts. According to Matt Johnson, the co-founder, the program not only provides a stable revenue stream for his brewery but also promotes a deep sense of community and local commerce. Johnson affirms hosting guests approximately five nights a week.

Reflecting on his journey with the program, Johnson shares his regret for not joining sooner. He credits hosting for not only boosting their revenue, but also cultivating strong relationships with the guests, many of whom are frequent visitors.

With a network of over 5,100 national locations and 27 local sites, Harvest Hosts provides numerous opportunities for RV users to enhance their travel experiences significantly. Johnson notes that regardless of whether guests visit local sites or venture further, they invariably return with fascinating stories and unforgettable experiences.
